ARE YOU GOING ON HOLIDAY OVER WHITSUN?

Before you go, consider some simple crime prevention measures.
Make sure your home looks occupied to deter would-be thieves.
Consider using timer switches for a radio, and lights in different rooms when it goes dark.
Ideally ask a trusted neighbour, friend or relative to keep an eye on your property.
Ask them if they can they switch lights on/off, draw/open curtains, perhaps park their car in your drive or outside your house
Consider leaving valuable items (jewellery/laptops) with relative/friend.
Mow your lawn and put all garden tools away.
Ensure your shed and garage have good strong locks and back garden gate at least has an inaccessible bolt.
Don’t leave your bins by fences or gates as it helps thieves gain access to your property
Cancel any newspaper or milk deliveries and ask a neighbour if they’d mind collecting

Don’t update/use Facebook/Twitter or other social media saying you are on holiday or where you are. Your home insurance company may not cover you if you have a burglary.
